KAIROS has supported the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) throughout its mandate and believes that all of its 94 Calls to Action are important. This year (2015-2016) the KAIROS Winds of Change campaign focuses on TRC Call to Action #62.i., and KAIROS is proud to partner with the Legacy of Hope Foundation on this education and advocacy initiative. Call to Action #62.i. reads:

We call upon the federal, provincial, and territorial governments, in consultation and collaboration with Survivors, Aboriginal peoples, and educators, to: i. Make age-appropriate curriculum on residential schools, Treaties, and Aboriginal peoples’ historical and contemporary contributions to Canada a mandatory education requirement for Kindergarten to Grade Twelve students.
