Join the Relay of Hope!

Join thousands of people worldwide in a Relay of Hope to build momentum for the Jubilee 2025: Turn Debt into Hope campaign!
The Relay of Hope is a symbolic gesture on a global scale. Inspired by the Olympic torch, this candle-lighting activity reflects our shared mission to spread light, life and hope.
Anyone can do it anywhere, anytime. Pass the light to help us grow hope and grow the movement for economic and ecological justice – Jubilee justice.
Join the Relay! You can do so in one of two ways. Use your phone to take a video of yourself holding a candle, explaining what you are doing specifically to Turn Debt into Hope. Or film a group of people (any size) doing the same thing and pass the light to one another. Watch the video below for an example.
One special time for a Relay of Hope is on the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’ between Saturday 24 May and Wednesday 28 May 2025. This will create a wave of action around the world, forming a symbolic chain of unity and solidarity.
Thank you for joining the Relay of Hope!
From May 13 to 15, KAIROS staff and Steering Committee met at the Galilee Centre in Arnprior, Ontario for a retreat. We chose this beautiful setting next to an old growth forest to Relay our individual and collective ways of building Hope. We’ve chosen to add a commitment to our “Turn Debt into Hope” statements. You could too!
