Watershed Walk and Explorations in Halifax, October 14

1 – Explore Our Watershed
The day begins with three walks, each in a different “stream” of watershed and reconciliation issues.  Your choice:

Mining Justice
Jackie McVicar, staff of United for Mining Justice
Starting point: Beach at the end of South Street, near Cromwell Road and Dalhousie University
Water Protection and Legal Action
Tina Northrup, East Coast Environmental Law (ECELaw)
Starting point: Nova Scotia Court of Appeal (1815 Upper Water St)
Migrant Justice
Local Migrants and Alfredo Barahona, KAIROS Indigenous, Migrant & Network Relations Coordinator
Starting Point: TBC

2 – Deepen your Understanding of Watersheds
Whether the word “watershed” is brand new to you or you have been working in this frame work for years, everyone will be able to deepen their knowledge and engagement through interactive large and small group sessions through the rest of the day.

3 – Closing Circle with Elder Billy Lewis and Water Protectors

Lunch and snacks are included for just $20 or $10/pay what you can for students and unwaged.

Detailed walk information will be emailed to registered participants. Please let us know in the registration, if you need a ride along the walk route in order to participate.
