A Grateful Farewell Message from the Steering Committee

This month marks the conclusion of Leah Reesor-Keller’s term of service with KAIROS as the Transitional Executive Director. Leah first joined KAIROS in September 2023 as the interim Executive Director and then took on an extended mandate as Transitional Executive Director to support KAIROS through a time of change. As Leah’s planned term concludes at the end of May 2025, we want to bid her a grateful farewell and offer thanks for her leadership at KAIROS.
During Leah’s time with us, she has been an integral part of our team, contributing significantly to KAIROS program and advocacy work and fostering a positive work environment. Leah’s engaged, compassionate, and effective leadership has been invaluable. Her dedication, creativity, and teamwork have been truly appreciated by all of us. Leah’s impact to ensure that Indigenous programs are Indigenous-led is very important and significant in the history of KAIROS.
As we prepare for this transition, we want to ensure a smooth handover of Leah’s responsibilities. KAIROS Director of Operations, Shona Fulcher will be stepping in as Interim Executive Director to manage these duties until a new executive director is in place. The search committee for the permanent executive director role has been hard at work over the past several months, and we look forward to sharing more news soon.
We’re excited for the direction that KAIROS is going in, and grateful for the many dedicated staff, partners and volunteers who continue to carry forward our work for human rights and ecological justice. In face of the many challenges facing the world today, KAIROS’ work has never been more necessary, and we are ready to keep moving forward together taking faithful action for justice.
We encourage everyone to join us in bidding a warm farewell to Leah. Feel free to share your well-wishes, memories, and messages of appreciation by emailing info@kairoscanada.org. We are very appreciative for all the hard work that Leah has done for us over the past year and eight months, and she will be missed.
