Join the G7 Jubilee People’s Forum participants and other civil society organizations in public action that calls G7 leaders to justice. Meet at City Hall in downtown Calgary for a program beginning at noon, led by the Calgary Climate Hub. Bring your “flames of hope” and other economic and ecological justice signs. The solidarity walk begins at 2:00 p.m. with rally stops at various prominent G7 locations in the downtown area. The People’s Forum will maintain a presence at City Hall plaza throughout the afternoon to engage the public. Join us for the whole afternoon or just come when you can.
Throughout the afternoon the Forum team will have a station at City Hall. Look for the streamers and come say hello and support the cause for global debt relief and Jubilee justice. There will be a repeated theatre piece, some chanting or singing, engaging the public with the petition, and pinatas! There will also be some shade, some water, perhaps a place to sit for a moment.
For a rest mid-afternoon, you are welcome to relax at the Parish Hall of the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Redeemer, 604 1st Street SE. This is also where we will gather at the end of the rally.
