Development & Peace – Caritas Canada and the Jubilee People’s Forum invite you to an evening with Cardinal Pedro Barreto of Peru. He will talk on “Cry the Beloved Planet: A Mandate for the G7” and offer prayers on behalf of Our Common Home and all those oppressed by debt. Bring your questions. Be prepared to pray.
Cardinal Barreto is emeritus Archbishop of Huancayo, Peru. He was an organizer of the Pan-Amazonia Bishops Synod, and close with both Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV (also of Peru). After his Toronto visit, he will travel to Calgary to deliver a challenge to the G7 (the leaders of the worlds 7 largest economies).
