Every day activism and care by and for Palestinian women and girls

16 Days - Day 4
16 Days - Day 4

Diala Ghattas is a social worker with the Wi’am: Palestinian Centre for Conflict Transformation, a KAIROS partner in Bethlehem, Palestine. The situation in the West Bank has been described as the silent genocide. With increasing attacks, dispossession and annexation of land by the Israeli army and settlers, and the compounding impacts changing climate, women and girls are particularly affected. Throughout Palestine, there has been an erosion of human rights and an increase in gender-based violence.

Diala works with women in the community every day, providing them with psychosocial support and human rights training, and helping them to restore dignity and empower themselves with their rights and how to defend them. These are the every day actions and care that we need to support, protect and hold up to the light during these 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
