KAIROS joins other members of the Canadian Network for Corporate Accountability (CNCA) in denouncing the elimination of the Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE).
KAIROS members, networks, and partners have been demanding corporate accountability for decades. We advocated for an independent and accountable CORE and since its creation in 2019 we have been advocating with a growing movement of Canadians for this office to be stronger, independent, legally binding, and effective.
To eliminate the office is to silence these voices and to ignore communities around the world whose lives and livelihoods continue to be negatively impacted by Canadian corporations.
