The Two-Way
Path
Kairos is renewing its purpose and sharpening its role in movements for justice. Over the next three years, we will bring reconciliation to the centre of our organization, connect issues too often addressed in isolation and build the collective power needed to transform systems that harm people and the Earth.
Why this plan, why now
Distinct paths.
Shared direction.
Climate disruption, conflict, displacement, gender inequality and economic injustice interact and reinforce one another. At the same time, public trust is weakening, attention is fragmented and formal avenues for influence are shifting. Justice movements are responding through decentralized leadership, stronger networks and deeper relationships across differences.
Kairos brings a distinct strength to this moment: the ability to connect people across faith traditions, identities and geographies and move from learning to coordinated action. We will contribute as a connector, convener and collaborator—working alongside Indigenous partners, youth, global allies, faith communities and people of conscience.
The Two Way Path
Building relation -ships, sharing power and making decisions.
Inspired by the spirit of the Two Row Wampum, the Two-Way Path is our framework for living reconciliation in practice. It holds two distinct yet connected paths: Indigenous sovereignty and ways of being, and settler learning and responsibility. The paths remain distinct while moving in a shared direction, grounded in autonomy, accountability and right relationship.
This framework will shape how Kairos governs, builds relationships, shares power and makes decisions. Reconciliation is not a separate program. It is a daily practice that informs every part of our work.
Centre reconciliation
Embed reconciliation in governance, culture, partnerships and daily practice.
Advance systems change
Challenge colonialism, ecological destruction, gender inequality and displacement through coordinated work.
Renew people power
Expand participation through inclusion, youth engagement and shared leadership.

Kairos will align internal systems, planning and resources with the values of the plan. Shared working agreements will guide how we practise respect, repair harm, communicate decisions, share power and carry responsibility. Seasonal cycles of learning, action and reflection will help us adapt while protecting the relationships and organizational health that sustain the work.
What success will look like
- More people move from awareness and analysis into sustained collective action through stronger, partner-led learning networks.
- Coordinated campaigns extend their reach and achieve policy influence through the shared leadership of partners and communities.
- Reciprocal relationships, broader participation, staff well-being and funding aligned with strategic priorities strengthen the health of the movement and the organization.
